Some photos of the boy... He's a big one! The chart says he's above the 98th percentile. I have a cute video of him laughing, but the upload didn't work. I'll try again later. We love him lots!

Trip to Utah?!

Hey fans. Well Caleb agreed that if the weather was cold enough to give him time off, and if I could come up with the money, he would take me and Gideon to Utah! I know, I know, but save your applause. Then, Mom figured with gas around $1.50 a gallon, and my car getting about 26 mpg on the highway, I would only need about $80 to get to Utah and $80 to get back! Okay, now you can cheer. That figure is less than half of what it used to be to make this trip! So, I asked Mom to discuss it with the fam, and if each of my brothers and sisters could donate say 10 or 15 bucks, that would be enough to come down! Can you bewieve it?
To sum up, I would like to know what everyone thinks of this plan, and if they think it would be possible to start the "Finally Get to See Sami, Caleb and their Cute Baby" fund.
Okay, well here's to me getting my hopes up! :)

Great and Good, Grood.

Just wanted to post this real quick-like. I just found out that what I thought were stubborn white lumps of thrush in Gideon's mouth are actually something called Bohn's nodules...? Ever heard of those? Anyway, I guess they are common and harmless, although gross looking. That means that whatever was actually thrush went away weeks ago! Huzzah! I stopped using the violet gunk, I think that pretty much took care of everything. I hope the real thrush won't come back! So that's exciting, huh? I'm glad that he's okay, although I feel pretty dumb for not figuring it out sooner. That's what the first kid is for, right? Hahaha...uhh.... hmm.

Useless Updates :D

So, Kristi threatened me if I didn't keep blogging. Oh yeah Kristi, who is that baby I am holding in that banner photo? Hyrum, perhaps? Man, look how awesomely great I was back then. Now I'm a boring mom with my hair in a bun. Almost every time I log into my blog, something new is on there, it's like Christmas! Half of the photos that Kristi puts up are ones I've forgotten even exist. Um, nothing really worth blogging about. I hate it here at the in-law's house. Aggggggzzz!
Wait, there is something worth telling, I forgot. Caleb is working on our own little house! They have already poured the concrete walls for the basement level. He and his dad are over there right now working on it some more. Oh the excitement! It's kinda small, but what do you expect for a first house? I hope it actually gets finished and I get a chance to live in there!

Also, we are trying the gentian violet goo on baby Gideon. His face is all smudgy purple, it's cute and sad at the same time. I cannot believe how long this thrush has lasted! If this stuff doesn't work, then I dunno! A stronger prescription from the doctor's office, I suppose... which we could never afford. No, I don't have health insurance. Save your lecture! I know I should, blahhhh. Anyway, back to Gideon. I feel bad for him, but he's a pretty good sport. He is still happy and growing like crazy. He's 13 weeks old today, I do believe, and he's about 16.5 lbs. Yowza! He's already outgrowing his 3 month clothes and fitting into some clothes labeled 6 months. At this rate, I won't be able to carry him around by 6 months. My mom said that's how Justin was as a baby, so I guess Gideon could grow up to be 6'4".Gideon without Gentian Violet
Gideon after the Gentian Violet. Awww.

I Kicked a Girl and I Liked It.

Zzzzz. I'm bored with everything. I'm getting cabin fever stuck in this house all day. I can't even do a load of laundry cause that machine is going 24/7 with everyone else's crap in it. This place is a mess, and I don't have a lot of free time to clean, or eat, or even shower when I want. Well, I don't have any exciting news to post, I'm just killing time by venting.
Gideon's thrush is not getting any better. I ran out of prescription stuff, so now we're trying the natural stuff approach. I think he's just getting worse, though. I know, I know "take him to the doctor" you say. Well I guess we will if this acidophilus doesn't work.
Any prayers for him would be appreciated!
He is such a sweet boy, and he's definitely a morning person. When he wakes up around 8, he's all smiles and cooing. I am, at 8 o'clock, still dead tired from getting 5 hours of sporadic sleep. Gideon loves windows. He'll stare at them and try talking to them. And I swear Gideon said 'hello' to me once! Well, really I was saying hello over and over to him and he answered back 'elll-ooooo', but I'm still impressed.
He's a bit spoiled, I suppose. He can't fall asleep unless he's being held. He can sleep through almost anything except being put down on a bed, that will wake him right up. Also, I am starting to suspect that he holds in his pee until I try to change his diaper, at
which point he sprays it all over the place. This has
happened a countless number of times! How can a 23 inch baby pee a 4 foot stream? Ah... the miracles of nature.
Lastly, thanks to Kristi for adding some thingamajigs to my blog for me. I am trying to find a way to put up a cool background without obnoxious advertising in it. Or I mean, I am waiting for Kristi to do that for me. A teeheehee.

HalloWeener

Since becoming a Christian, I've learned an awful lot about the world around me, and I feel I should share some of those things. Halloween is coming up, and millions of parents are planning to celebrate it with their children. Of course, it's a lot of good people with innocent children just wanting to wear costumes and get candy. Hey, I've been known to throw on a ninja getup and eat a bag of Reese's cups any old time of the year. Anywho, Halloween (and most other popular holidays) really bother me nowadays since I've learned of their origins. So you can take this info seriously or not, but I've asked God to help me reach someone and make a difference.

This is a link to a short comic about Halloween: http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0011/0011_01.asp
It's simple and a quick read, but still important.

So, to make it short, Halloween was started by Satan-worshippers. They celebrated it every year by making living sacrifices and other dark rituals. And actually, I think that most people know about Halloween's disturbing history. The main problem is that modern people, even people who say they are Christian, continue to celebrate this day. Isn't there anything unsettling about dressing up children as vampires, witches, devils, and the like? What about decorating them with things like fake blood and gore? I know it's "just for fun", but the Bible tells us to avoid all appearances of evil. I can't think of anything more evil than making little children look like something un-dead or Satanic.
1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Some people might say "So whats if I dresses 'em ups like a angel or a football playah or sumpin?" To that I say: "That's not evil-looking, but why celebrate Halloween at all? Can't you just leave this dark day to the Druids who invented it?"
Jeremiah 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen,...
We are creations of God, in His image. We are supposed to worship God with all of our heart and mind. If we celebrate Halloween, a day considered holy by witchcraft and Satanists, whom do we appear to be glorifying?
In all the ghost stories and folklore, what always seems to happen on Halloween; good things or bad things?
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
When we, and our children, think about Halloween, do we think of darkness and scary things, or goodness and love?
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Should we go along with a worldly tradition "just for fun", or skip it because it can offend God? That part is up to you!

I guess I'm about done here. Here's one more link with a short bit about Christians and Halloween.
Thanks for reading, I hope you consider Halloween a little more seriously this year. But if you'd just like to share a bargain size bag of assorted Hershey products, I'll be over in a few minutes. We really should hang out more often.

Oi Vey!

I am exhausted! About two weeks ago, we were moving out of our house, and I was doin' most of the packing, since Caleb has to go to work. We moved into Caleb's parent's house (huzzah...) and we're still here. It's quite crowded. I am behind on sleep and losing my patience! There is not much privacy here, although I'm grateful that the in-laws were willing to take us in... again! I have not had much free time to decorate my blog, or even take a shower. And to top it all off, Gideon has thrush! And it has migrated to his diaper region...poor baby. This infection has turned my sweet, quiet baby into a constant whiner, but I can't blame him. Anything that I have done to try and help seems to have made it worse! I actually haven't given him this Nystatin yet, because I fear the side effects. Does anyone have experience with this? Any comments would be helpful.
So there you have it. I really wish I lived closer to my family right about now. *tear*

Sigh.

To make a long story short, we moved out of our house this week. Also we had awful, insane neighbors. I wouldn't mind if I never saw them again....bunch of crazies!
Moving out of there means we had to move in here, the in-law's house! Hooray! It's like, the place to be. :(
Caleb, Gideon and I are setting up camp in one of the bedrooms upstairs and all of our stuff is sitting in a neighbors garage. Good times.
On the bright side, I have access to the internet again. And Caleb's planning to build us our own house around here some-a-wheres. I'll let you know when that happens. *shrug*
I'm so tired! Being homeless is exhausting.
I'll upload a few more photos, why not?

Talk About Babies!

Hey folks, I will make this quick, I am using the in-law's internet again.
I am gonna post a few photos of my adorable, perfect, sweet baby. ^_^
I hope to get my own internet back someday, so that I can go into more details on my blogs, and check out other people's blogs as well. Shucks, it sucks not having the net. Well here they are!

Officially a mother. Awwwws.

Hey fans, sorry it took me so long to post this. I have to make it quick, too. I don't have internet at my house anymore, I'm at the in-law's.

I had a bouncing baby boy at 1:49 am on Sunday, August 31st. I had a home delivery, and it went surprisingly well. No drugs, no doctors, no complications.

He was 8 pounds and 15 oz. Just a few gummy bears weight away from 9 pounds.
He was pink and fat and healthy! Thank the Lord for that.

I have photos, but I have no idea when I will get a chance to upload them. Anyway, believe that he is a very cute baby. We think he's already getting orange hair... oh my. And, by the way, we named him Gideon.
Get used to it!

Ever-So-Cute

So, my dog had an unplanned litter of puppies almost a month ago. They are the cutest little bunch of furry accidents. Teehee.
I haven't done this before, but I'm gonna see if I can post some photos of them. Wish me luck.

Bloggin' it Up.

I recently acquired this blog to keep in touch with the fam, namely Kristi (hi Kristi). She's my sister who suggested starting one. As far as I know, though, I'm the only one to take her advice.
Anywho, I'll try and figure out all this blogging business, it's pretty complex. This setting up of my profile is freakin' me out.
My life is ever so boring. I'll find something to blog about soon, though. I am due to have my baby the first week of September, and we might be moving soon.
Over and out.

P.S. Why in the world am I not allowed to indent my paragraphs? Oh, the nerve!
